The Co-operative Hall on King Lane

These two photographs taken outside the old Co-operative Hall on King Lane were taken for something called 'Cotton Week'.The hall was one of Clitheroe's cinemas in the day.It was also used for shows e.t.c.Later on the hall closed and was sold to the supermarket Hillards and then was bought out by Tescos. When Tescos moved to their new site around 10 years ago,the building was again sold and sadly demolished. Also at the top of King Lane you can still see the old stables and barn for the Brownlow Arms which was demolished in 1920 to make way for the Yorkshire Bank.
