This photograph was taken around 1880.It's not one of my Great Grandads,but I thought it was well worth putting on this site.The immediate thing that grabs you when looking at the photograph is just how rural Clitheroe looks.From a field where the Station Hotel is now to Waddington Road area,again just being a field.The bottom right are the pens for the then Clitheroe auction mart.The other building behind the station is the old gas works in its early days.
