Here are a series of photographs taken down Brungerley Park
at the turn of last century. As you can see before the war Brungerley Park
was a hive of activity to what it is today. From boating down the Ribble to
concerts in the park. Its not untill after the Industrial Revolution that people
started to have more leisure time.Towards the end of the 19th century things
thankfully began to change. Many clubs and societys started to form, from football
to a trip down the park things began to dramatically change. Here in Clitheroe
Brungerley Park was opened for the people of the area.Brungerley Park was
established in 1876 attracting huge crowds of people on Bank Holidays and
the like. One of the main leisure pursuits was boating up and down the river.Unfortunately
because of the war the boating stopped and never revived
