This was taken off another very early 10"x 8"
glass plate. The Post Office and local shop are still there to this day,the
only difference being the shop window is built out more. This is by far the
earliest plate I have found to date. This photograph was taken in 1893.The
old couple in the centre of the photograph are John and Hannah Dugdale taken
on their Golden Wedding with their family around them.John Dudale was the
Post Master at the time,he took over the Post Office in 1887.He was born way
back in time in1819 in Waddington. He met his wife Hannah in Grindleton when
he was haymaking one year. After this they moved to Bury for a time and then
moved back to Waddington in 1848.
